Phil Heath wins the 2015 Mr. Olympia

Phil Heath wins again for the 5th year in a row, he beat a very impressive set of guys who consist of a 100% Dexter Jackson who came 2nd. Phil says he will go on to win 10 Sandows which would make him the greatest Mr. Olympia of all time, but can he do it? Year after year he continues to get noticeably worse with his physique, if this trend continues, then I don't see his region lasting for very long. L-ARGININE | MUSCLE BUILDING/FAT LOSS AMINO ACID

L-arginine is a naturally occurring amino acid that may help to increase blood flow (in some populations) and anabolic growth-hormone secretion. This helps increase lean muscle mass/strength/power, promotes faster recovery from exercise, and improves the work capacity of active muscles. 

L-arginine also improves the process of clearing waste products from your muscles. This may result in a reduced sense of fatigue.

L-arginine should be consumed as part of your post-exercise recovery, which should begin within 30 minutes of finishing your workout. Some people like to take arginine in the pre-exercise period (30-60 min before exercise).

The amount of L-arginine needed to increase anabolic growth-hormone secretion and improve muscle recovery is at least 6 grams as part of your post-workout recovery. The typical American diet only provides about 5.5 grams of L-arginine during an entire day.

Muscle Growth

L-arginine contributes to muscle growth because it is needed for the synthesis of most proteins. While the muscle mass increases, L-arginine also signals muscle cells, encourages the release of growth hormone and promotes fat metabolism. The overall result is the well-toned, lean muscle mass sought by bodybuilders. By reducing the fat stores underneath the skin and promoting muscle growth, L-arginine can increase your fitness and improve strength, which are needed for bodybuilding.





SHREDDED GUYS DRINK COFFEE!

Research studies show that long-term consumption of caffeine and coffee decreases body weight in rats. These animal studies on weight loss suggest that long-term caffeine and coffee consumption could decrease body weight in humans. However, the research also suggests that caffeine-induced thermogenesis (how your body burns calories to create heat energy) and fat oxidation is more significant in non-obese patients. 
Studies have also found that energy expenditure is elevated for several hours after drinking caffeinated coffee; they also suggest that a habitual consumption of 6 cups of coffee per day can increase energy expenditure that could lead to significant weight loss. The American Dietetic Association recommends three 8 oz. cups of coffee per day. Use these recommendations to make the right choice for you.
Because coffee can act as a natural diuretic, drinking it could rid your body of excess water weight. I drink black coffee the day before a photo-shoot to help me look dry and striated. It's been a great tool for me in my fitness career!

Coffee does have some great health and weight-loss benefits. But just like milkshakes, biceps curls and running marathons, too much of a good thing can have deleterious effects on your body. 
Some people react differently to caffeine — it actually increases their appetites! Also, drinking too much coffee can cause jitteriness and anxiety; use it in moderation. 
Enjoying too many cups of coffee too late in the afternoon or evening can also cause insomnia. If you drink multiple after-dinner cups of Joe, you might be in for a rough night of wide-awake life contemplation.
If you don't usually drink coffee, make sure you gage how your body reacts to caffeine before you start making it a part of your diet.

HOW TO BURN FAT | COUNTING MACROS

Before we all knew about counting macros and tracking our foods. We all have fell guilty to eating no carbs, cutting out rice and bread and anything starch, thinking that is how you properly lose weight, it is fault.
Fat loss can be achieve by eating anything, literally, of course within your set number of macros meaning carbs, fats and protein. Find your carbs, fats and protein ratio, stick to those numbers every single day and you can incorporate any food you want to fill those macros, aslong as you don't do over or under, you probably will either way, but the goal is to try and hit those numbers as perfectly as possible. Once fat loss is achieved then you adjust your macros to your new body weight, you continue to adjust your macros to your body weight as fatloss continues to be achieved until you get to your goal weight or goal physique.

Watch this video by Chris Jones of physiquesofgreatness to figure out how to set a good ratio of carbs, fats and protein, we are all different and we are all individual, but this is a good guide to follow if you are having difficulty figuring it out or if you don't want to pay for a macro coach.
